Kevin Hart says The Academy Awards called him to apologize for his homophobic comments; he says no

It was just announced on Thursday that Kevin Hart was going to host the 91st Academy Awards, but it looks like his dream that came true is now over.

Kevin Hart has taken to his Instagram in a video to let people know that he received a call from the Academy’s, and was asked to apologize for homophobic comments that he made several years ago on Twitter between 2009-2011 and he’s saying no.

Kevin is blaming it on internet “trolls.”

He said “The same energy that went into finding those old tweets could be the same energy you put into finding my response to the questions that have been asked years after years after years,” Hart said. “We feed the internet trolls and we reward them. I’m not gonna do it, man. I’m gonna be me. I’m gonna stand my ground.”

People who were highly offended by his anti-gay slurs, made it a movement to have The Academy’s remove him as a host.

Looks like they won, but Hart is standing by his remarks, refusing to apologize in order to continue to host the Oscars.

I wonder who they’ve got lined up already..
