Kim Kardashian will be launching her Solutionwear brand under a new name after she’s received tons of backlash for ‘culture appropriation’ from the Asian community.
The asian community is cancelling Kim K. right now for trademarking the word ‘Kimono’ and using it for her collection line that includes bras, one-piece bodies, underwear and more intimate wear, which is totally the opposite of what the Kimono stand for.
The Kimono is a beautiful gown used by the Asian culture which has been part of their tradition. They’re worn to weddings and other celebrations, totally the opposite of what the reality star is selling. It’s origin dates back to (645-710).
The mayor of Kyoto, one of Japan’s largest cities, sent a statement to her via Facebook asking her rethink the use of the word Kimono.
