Lawsuit Against Late Rapper Takeoff Is Put On Hold

GEORGIA- A lawsuit filed against late rapper Takeoff by a woman who claims he allegedly raped her in 2020 has been put on hold after his death.

Van Nuys Superior Court Judge Huey P. Cotton issued the order on Tuesday, according to KNX 1070 News Radio Los Angeles.

The plaintiff, identified as Jane Doe in the complaint, alleges the late rapper, whose real name is Kirshnik Khari Ball, allegedly sexually assaulted her during a party in a home on June 23, 2020.

The suit goes on to state that Takeoff allegedly made several advances at Doe, but she rejected.

The suit claims that Takeoff then followed Doe into a bedroom and allegedly “forced himself on her and engaged in sexual intercourse.”

The woman’s attorney had previously said that his client will proceed to go against Takeoff’s estate since he was killed. In court documents, the lawyer stated that the rapper’s death has “created a great deal of uncertainty in the matter” and that a stay is necessary in order to determine what Takeoff’s estate intends to do, according to KNX 1070 News Radio Los Angeles.

A petition to open a probate estate in regard to Takeoff was recently filed in Georgia, according to the court documents.

Takeoff was shot and killed in Houston during a dice game on Nov. 1.
