NEW JERSEY- New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy signed an executive order that will free certain inmates.
The inmates that are freed would be low-risk, whose ages and health problems put them at a higher risk to get the virus.
In the New Jersey prison system alone, there have been 129 employees that have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 20 inmates.
The inmates also qualify if they were up for parole this year or were denied parole last year.
The inmates will be electronically monitored, and will remain on home confinement. Those with charges like murder and rape are not eligible.
