Mac Miller’s brother slams rapper Machine Gun Kelly over his upcoming movie titled ‘Good News’.
Machine Gun Kelly, who goes by the acting name Colsen Baker, will be playing the role of an up & coming rapper who is troubled. The project will focus on the character’s last few days before dying.
The inspiration for the movie comes from late rapper’s like Mac Miller, Lil Peep and Juice WRLD.
Mac Miller’s brother isn’t content with the movie, indirectly asking MGK on Instagram to change the name of the movie.
Mac’s brother Miller McCormick posted an Instagram story which read “F*ck you, f*ck your movie,” adding “At least change the title.”
The name of the movie is based off of Mac Miller’s single from his posthumous album Circles.
The producer’s of ‘Good News’ released a statement to Uproxx, which read:
“Our film is about a fictional musician on the rise with a troubled life. It’s not in any way a biopic or based on any artist’s true life. We realize the title, which was intended as an homage to Mac Miller, and other artists gone too soon, feels disrespectful. We’ve heard from many people on social media who have found offense with the title so, without hesitation, we will change it.”
