Man Accused Of Killing Nipsey Hussle Heads To Trial

LOS ANGELES- The man accused of killing rapper Nipsey Hussle will be heading to trial.

Eric Holder’s jury selection in his trial begins this week. The selection process could take up to 2 weeks, the Los Angeles Times reported.

During a pretrial hearing, The Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney John Mckinney said he plans on calling 15 witnesses, including the woman who was with Holder before the murder, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Holder is accused of fatally shooting the 33-year-old rapper on March 19, 2019, as the rapper was standing in front of his clothing store “The Marathon”.

Prosecutors believe that Holder, who allegedly knew Nipsey, was riding with his girlfriend when they decided to stop at a parking lot to get burgers.

Holder saw Nipsey, and approached the rapper, who allegedly told him that there were rumors in the street he was a snitch, prosecutors said. Prosecutors say Holder became upset and was heard asking Nipsey “Haven’t you snitched?”, People reports.

Holder left and returned to the vehicle he was in with his girlfriend. He went back to where Nipsey was and fired 12 rounds. Before leaving, Holder was caught on video footage kicking the rapper in the head as he was lying on the floor.

Holder’s defense claims the rapper suffers from mental illness and was going through a difficult time at the time of the murder.

Holder was charged with one count of first-degree murder and two counts of first-degree attempted murder.
