DETROIT- A man has been charged with sex trafficking after he locked at 10 women up in a basement, where they were raped, beaten, fed drugs on plates and forced to have sex with men, authorities say.
Quiyemabi Summerlin, 42, a convicted sex offender, was arrested last week after authorities took down his alleged sex operation, FOX2 Detroit reported.
The investigation began in 2019 after the first victim came forward to police and reported that Summerlin had raped her twice and forced her to live in a basement. She said he forced her to have sex with me and give him the money.
Investigators found 9 more victims, who called Summerlin a violent pimp, who threatened them with guns, beat them for asking for food, and raped them multiple times.
Summerlin told the women they would have to earn $1000 a day, and supplied them with crack, heroin and cocaine.
Police say they executed a search warrant on Oct. 14, and found two women in the basement of the home. One woman said she had been in the basement for 3 months, according to a report.
Summerlin was charged with maintaining a drug home, gun and drug charges, in addition to sex trafficking by force.
