Man charged after pulling his gun out when asked to wear mask

FLORIDA- A man has been arrested, and charged after pulling his gun out on a man inside of Walmart over a mask.

Vincent Bruce Scavetta, 28, was arrested by police on July 12th, and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and improper exhibition of a firearm.

The Sun-Sentinel reports that Scavetta was pushing his father in a wheelchair, when a man identified as Christopher Estrada, who was walking with his 9-year-old daughter, approached him and asked him to wear a mask due to COVID-19.

Estrada says that after he asked Scavetta to wear a mask, he began cursing at him, and told him “I’ll kill you!” while brandishing his gun.

Scavetta told police that he was wearing a mask before he entered Walmart but it got wet, and he decided not to wear the mask because it was fogging up his glasses.

Scavetta has bonded out.
