FLORIDA- A man has been charged in the death of a Pennsylvania woman whose body parts were found in Tampa Bay, police say.
Robrt Kessler, was already in custody on a drug charge when he was re-arrested and charged with second-degree murder and abuse of a dead body in the murder of Stephanie Crone-Overholts.
Overholts was living with Kessler when her family reported her missing earlier this month. Her family contacted Florida police after seeing her tattoo on the news, reports FOX News.
Kessler told police that he met Overholts in a fast-food joint. He said that she told him she had been living out of her car and he invited her to stay with him.
Kessler then told police that Overholts stayed with him before disappearing for weeks. Police said that story was a lie.
During a search of Overholts vehicle and Kessler’s home, police found her blood.
A fisherman found Overholts leg on Nov. 11, which had a tattoo of a heart and three names on it. The following day, another fisherman found more of her remains.
