Man Charged With Faking Positive COVID-19 Test To Avoid Court

CONNECTICUT- A man has been charged after he allegedly faked a positive COVID-19 test, so he could skip out on an upcoming court date.

Junior Jumpp, 31, was arrested Tuesday for the fake test result.

Jumpp was scheduled to appear before a New Britain Judicial District judge on Nov. 30 for a bond review hearing for a string of criminal cases.

The judge excused Jumpp from appearing in court after his attorney said that he had received a screenshot from his client a day before which showed that he had tested positive for COVID.

Investigators determined the test was results were fake.

Jumpp was out on bond after he was arrested on Nov. 16. Under the conditions of his bond release, he was was ordered not to get arrested for any other crimes.

He was charged with one count of forgery in the second degree and one count of fabricating physical evidence.

Jumpp now has 12 open criminal cases. Great job!
