FLORIDA (News4Jax)- 26-year-old Jerrontra White has been charged with second-degree murder for the death of a 2-month-old baby.
The baby was left in White’s care by the mother at a Hotel 6.
According to police, when the mother returned, she says that her baby was in distresses, moaning and couldn’t have eye contact with her.
The baby was taken to the emergency room by the mother, and doctors found that the baby had a skull fracture and his brain was swelling, which are injuries that are consistent with abusive trauma.
He died 5 days later…
White told police that he hadn’t had slept the night before taking the child in his care and “downplayed” the injuries he sustained.
A man who was at the Motel told police that he had heard “commotion” coming from the room, but was unaware that it was a baby being abused.
To make things worse, White is a registered sex offender.
It’s in my opinion that the mother was careless in leaving her baby with White..
