Man fatally stabbed brother in dispute over car; police

NEW ORLEANS- A man is accused of killing his brother with a knife, after a dispute with his brother over a car, according to police.

Police documents state that Andrew Mercadel, 30, and Darren Mercadel, 27, got into a heated argument about a car on June 9, NOLA reports.

Darren Mercadel is accused of stabbing his older brother, who was later found dead in his car. Police say he drove away after being shot by his brother.

Darren Mercadel turned himself into police custody, and was charged with second-degree murder.
