NYC- A man hijacked a NYC MTA bus Thursday and crashed it into a utility police before he was arrested.
The man is accused of confronting the bus driver at gunpoint around 7 a.m. at 199th Street and Linden Boulevard before allegedly demanding that the driver open the door, police said, according to local reports.
The driver opened the back door, allowing passengers to escape.
Police say the driver then jumped out of a window as the bus was still moving, causing it to crash into a utility pole.
He was treated for minor injuries at a nearby hospital.
The suspect was arrested at the scene, but it’s unclear what he’s been charged with.
