THE BRONX- A man has been indicted for sexually assaulting and beating his girlfriend’s 1-year-old son to death, Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Monday.
Keishawn Gordon, 24, allegedly “inflicted blunt force trauma on the child, leaving him with a lacerated liver, and allegedly sexually abused the infant” Clark said in a press release.
Gordan was arraigned on two counts of second-degree murder, and one count each of first-degree manslaughter, second-degree manslaughter, and first-degree aggravated sexual abuse.
Police responded to a call about an unresponsive toddler on Sept. 9. When they arrived at the residence, the toddler was found unconscious. First responders attempted live-saving procedures on the boy. He was pronounced dead shortly after.
Gordon was caring for the toddler while the mother was working. He admitted to police that he squeezed the boy’s stomach and threw him up in the air to get him to stop crying. He also told police that he sexually abused the toddler with a toothbrush.
