Man involved in car crash that killed Colts linebacker Edwin Jackson and Uber driver gets 16 years in prison

A man who was living in the United States from Guatemala was sentenced on Friday to 16 years for the death of Colts linebacker Edwin Johnson and his Uber driver.

Manuel Orrego-Savala, 37, was drunk on Feb 4th when he was behind the wheel of his vehicle that killed Colts linebacker Edwin Johnson and his Uber driver Jeffrey Monroe.

Savala crashed his truck into Johnson who was standing outside the parked Uber vehicle with the driver because along interstate 70 in Indianapolis. Jackson had became ill so the driver decided to pull over.

According to Fox News, the police found Salvala walking away from the scene when they arrived.

Salvala also had a blood-alcohol content of 0.19, which is almost 2 ½ times Indiana’s legal limit to drink.

Salvala pleaded guilty was charged in July with 2 counts of operating a motor  vehicle with a blood-alcohol content of .15 or more, which causes death.
