ILLINOIS- A man has pleaded guilty to accidentally shooting and killing his girlfriend while taking selfies.
Isaiah Cole, 20, and A’Meyah T. Brewton, 21, were taking photos, as they held a gun in front of a mirror when the gun went off last September, The Chicago Tribune reports.
Cole was under the influence of marijuana when he mistakenly reloaded the gun before it fired.
Brewton was shot in her back, and pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
Authorities say they found almost 6 grams of methamphetamine, a scale and plastic bags. Cole was intending to distribute the drugs, the newspaper reports.
Cole pleaded guilty on Monday to involuntary manslaughter, and a drug charge in plea deal with prosecutors.
