Man Sentenced To 15 Years In Prison For Killing Brooklyn Rapper Mook Mula

NYC- A man was sentenced to serve 15 years in prison Wednesday in the shooting death of Brooklyn rapper Mook Mula.

Oliver, 44, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on April 23, 2023, and was sentenced afterwards, according to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle.

Mook Mula, 30, whose real name is Darnell Pettway, was shot and killed by Oliver in December of 2017 over a dispute that began over a stolen cellphone.

Oliver and Pettway were reportedly among a group of men who were drinking and gambling on Dec. 2 in Flatbush when Oliver got into a fight with another man over a stolen cellphone, the outlet reports.

Court docs state that Pettway didn’t intervene, which caused Pettway to become upset.

Oliver left the scene, and returned with a gun, shooting Pettway several times in his chest. Pettway was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
