LAS VEGAS- A man was sentenced to serve a minimum of one year in jail after being accused of torturing his dog and letting it die.
A judge sentenced Carlos Fonseca Jr. 27, to serve 1-4 years in prison on an animal cruelty charge.
Authorities said on Oct. 4, Fonseca killed a Japanese Tosa dog by hanging her near a dumpster several times before leaving the dog to die.
He was seen on surveillance footage walking the dog, tying it up to a tree several times before leaving her.
The dog reportedly belonged to Fonseca’s girlfriend.
