PENNSYLYVANIA- A man that was upset over losing his job and the Coronavirus, shot his girlfriend and himself.
According to Lehigh Valley Live, police responded to a call about a shooting on Monday, around 1:30. When they arrived on the scene, they found 38-year-old Roderick Bliss IV unresponsive with a pistol by his side.
Police then found his 43-year-old girlfriend, who was alive with gunshot wounds. She was taken to a Hospital where she is expected to live.
Police chief Chris Meehan says Bliss was upset over losing his job due the current Coronavirus epidemic.
After interviewing Bliss’s girlfriend, the chief stated in a report, “He (Bliss) went into the basement and came outside onto the rear porch with the victim. While holding the handgun, Bliss told the victim, “I already talked to God and I have to do this. The victim ran off the porch and he shot at her four times striking her once. Bliss then shot himself.”
