Man shot next to Nipsey Hussle is released from jail

LOS ANGELES, California- The man who was shot as he stood next to the now late Nipsey Hussle has been released from jail.

Kerry Lathan was shot in his spine, as he stood by talking to Nipsey Hussle, when suspect Eric Holder allegedly began firing. Lathan still has the bullet in his spine.

Lathan was arrested by the California Dept. of Corrections and Rehabilitation because he violated his parole. He was on parole, and was not supposed to be around a known gang member, and Nipsey Hussle was a known crip member.

Lathan served 25 years for a gang murder in 1994 and was released just seven months ago.

Lathan’s attorney say that it was actually by chance that his client was there with Nipsey, because his plans wasn’t to purposely met him.

The Dept. of corrections said on Friday that they are dropping their allegations against Lathan.
