Man To Plead Guilty To Distrubuting Drugs That Killed Rapper Mac Miller

LOS ANGELES- A man has agreed to plead guilty to supplying counterfeit fentanyl-laced pills to a dealer who sold the drugs to rapper Mac Miller before he overdosed, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Wednesday.

Ryan Michael Reavis, 38, is pleading guilty to a single federal count of distribution of fentanyl, according to the DOJ.

Reavis distributed the counterfeit oxycodone pills to co-defendant Cameron James Petit, 30, on Sept. 4, 2018. He admitted to knowing that the pills contained fentanyl or another controlled substance authorities say.

Petit sold the pills to Mac Miller, who was found dead in his L.A. home two days later from an overdose. He was 26-years-old.

The County Coroner’s office report states Miller died from an accidental overdose due to a combination of fentanyl, Xanax, other drugs and alcohol.

Reavis allegedly sold the pills to Petit at the direction of co-defendant Stephen Andrew Walter, 48, who agreed last month to plead guilty to one count of distribution of fentanyl.

A case against Petit is pending.
