Man who attacked R.Kelly says “the government” made him do it

CHICAGO- The man who attacked singer R.Kelly while in a jail cell at the Metro Correctional Correctional Center has been identified.

According to court documents obtained by Chicago.Sun.times, Jeremiah Shane Farmer, 39, stated “the government made me attack” R. Kelly, adding that he did so “in hopes of getting spotlight attention and world news notice to shed light on” on alleged corruption in the government.

Farmer attacked Kelly on Aug. 23rd, while the singer was a cell. Farmer was followed by a jail employee, who stated in court documents, that he followed Farmer, who abruptly left an office and went into the cell where Kelly was.

Farmer punched Kelly in the head, and torso, and was pepper-sprayed to break up the attack.

Farmer is a Latin King gang member, convicted of a racketeering conspiracy involving two murders in 1999. He expressed that he was also upset at Kelly, because the singers supporters, who have been protesting outside of the jail, caused a lock down.
