The man who broke into rapper Bun B’s home armed in 2019 was sentenced after the rapper’s emotional testimony.
20-year-old Demonte Jackson was sentenced to 40 years behind bars Friday, according to reports.
Jackson’s sentencing comes a day after the rapper testified how he was home with his wife, Angela “Queenie” Walls, when they came face-to-face with Jackson.
Walls was home in April 2019 when she answered her door expecting an Amazon delivery, but instead she met Jackson with a mask, who was also armed. He held her at gunpoint and demanded she hand him valuables and she led him to the garage.
Bun B seeing his wife being held at gunpoint, he grabbed his firearm exchanged fire with Jackson, who was hiding behind the rapper’s Audi.
Jackson suffered a gunshot wound to his shoulder. Bun B was able to unmask him so he could identify him before the would-be robber fled the scene. He was later arrested at a hospital by police. In 2019, he pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of burglary.
