Christian Ewing, 29, who crashed a Taylor Swift concert was charged on Monday for the death of 57 year old Gregory Freeman.
According to 10News, officers received a 911 call about an assault near an Interstate overpass in San Diego during the evening hours on December 5th. Investigators say that a witness saw a man beating the victim who was lying on the ground with an object.
When police arrived on the scene, they reported finding Freeman suffering from trauma to his upper body. He died three days later at the hospital. Police say that the suspect had fled the scene.
Ewing was arrested on Dec. 21st for violating his parole and rebooked on Monday for suspicion of murder.
Ewing’s arraignment for the murder charge is scheduled for December 27th.
In 2015, Ewing made headlines when he jumped on stage during a Taylor Swift concert. One of Swift’s security guards told Ewing that he wasn’t allowed on stage and that’s when he injured the guard.
Ewing pleaded guilty to assault and violently resisting an officer during the struggle. He was sentenced to two years of probation. Reports say that he was mentally ill.
When asked why he had jumped on stage, Ewing said “I Love That Girl.”
Anyone with information about the assault that happened in the Midway area is asked to call the San Diego Police Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
