ATALANTA – A man accused of killing a Subway employee and injuring another during a dispute about mayonnaise has been denied bond a year after the deadly shooting.
According to court documents obtained by WSB-TV, Melvin Williams will stay behind bars as he awaits trial, which has no set date as of now.
Williams is accused of shooting and killing Brittany Macon, 26 and injuring her coworker Jada Statum, 24, in June of 2022, over an alleged argument about the amount of mayonnaise on his sandwich.
Statum’s son was reportedly at the fast-food restaurant when she was shot and witnessed the horrifying incident.
Williams is charged with murder, aggravated assault (family violence), aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and three-degree cruelty to children, according to PEOPLE.
