CHICAGO- MasterChef’s Junior contestant Ben Watkins has died at the young age of 14 from cancer.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Watkins was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, just days after his 13th birthday.
Ben died on Tuesday, after struggling with the cancer for a year and a half.
He had been receiving chemotherapy for his spine, neck and lungs.
Ben’s parents died in a domestic violence incident in 2017, and he was being raised by his grandparents.
The aspiring chef appeared on season 6 MasterChef Junior.
