Megan Thee Stallion Takes Stand In Tory Lanez Trial, Admits To Having Relationship With Rapper

LOS ANGELES- Rapper Megan Thee Stallion took the stand Tuesday to testify against singer Tory Lanez.

The rapper, whose real name is Megan Pete, showed up to court in a purple suit as a group of supporters cheered her on, holding signs which read “We stand with Megan.”

When Megan took the stand, she was asked by prosecutors if she knew Tory Lanez, and after appearing to be extremely uncomfortable, prosecutors asked her if she was nervous. She said, “I just don’t feel good.” “I can’t believe I have to come in here and do this,” according to the LA Times.

The Houston rapper testified that the shooting happened while Lanez and her were driving back from a party at Kylie Jenner’s house in the Hollywood Hills.

They were also traveling with a bodyguard and Megan’s former longtime friend, Kelsey Harris.

Megan said that Lanez was upset after he was asked to leave the party and turned around in the vehicle to tell Megan that she needed to “stop lying” to Harris about their relationship.

Megan then admitted to having a sexual relationship with Lanez, something that she denied during her interview with Gayle King.

Both of them began to argue and Lanez allegedly called Megan and Harris “Bitches and Hoes.”

The argument then became about their careers and Megan said she asked to exit the vehicle. As she left, Lanez allegedly fired several shots at her, as he shouted, “dance, bitch!”. At least one bullet struck her in one foot.

“I’m in shock. I’m scared, she recalled during her testimony. “I hear the gun going off and I can’t believe he’s shooting at me.”

Despite Lanez still being in the car, she got back inside, and they drove as she tried to stop her bleeding. Megan said Lanez allegedly promised to give her and Harris $1 million if they promised not to tell police what happened.

Jurors saw video footage of when police ordered all four occupants to get out of the car before they were detained.

When asked why she didn’t call the police after she was shot, Megan said she didn’t because she feared for Lanez’ life, saying “At the time, we are at the height of police brutality.”

She added “I don’t feel safe in the car. I don’t feel safe with the police officers either,” Megan said.

Lanez never made eye contact with Megan, but he was seen taking notes, the LA Times reports.

The Canadian’s singer’s defense team suggested the fight was actually between Harris and Megan, but they haven’t claimed Harris fired the shots. His lawyer also claims that Lanez’ DNA wasn’t on the gun.

Harris will be testifying later this week.

Lanez has been charged with assault with a firearm, negligent discharge of a gun and illegal possession of a firearm.

He faces up to 22 years in prison.
