Singer Melissa Etheridge tweeted a statement on Wednesday that revealed her son’s cause of death.
Melissa revealed to the world in a tweet that her 21-year-old Beckett Cypher died after battling with an opioid addiction.
He died on Wednesday.
In the statement that the singer wrote, it read “Today I joined the hundreds of thousands of families who have lost loved ones to opioid addiction. My son Beckett, who was just 21, struggled to overcome his addiction and finally succumbed to it today.”
Melissa wrote towards the end, ” I will sing again, soon. It has always healed me.”
