Wife Of Drug Lord ‘El Chapo’ Released From Prison

El Chapo’s wife has been released from prison.

Emma Coronel Aispuro was released from prison on Wednesday after she served a three-year sentence for drug trafficking and money laundering, according to reports.

Aispuro pleaded guilty in 2021 to three federal charges related to her husband’s crimes and her alleged involvement with the Sinaloa cartel.

She was accused of conspiring intentionally and willingly to distribute heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana.

Aispuro will now undergo four years of supervised release.

Her husband, “El Chapo”, whose real name is Joaquin Guzman, is currently serving life in prison at a Colorado Supermax prison after he was captured and convicted in 2016 after escaping a Mexican prison twice.

The drug lord was convicted of drug trafficking, criminal enterprise, and firearms charges.
