Missing 6-year-old killed; police charge 14-year-old boy

INDIANA- A 14-year-old boy has been charged in the death of a missing 6-year-old girl, who was found dead in the woods.

Grace Ross was reported missing by her family on March 12.

Her body was discovered a few hours later in a wooded area. She had been strangled to death.

According to South Bend Tribune, investigators took a 14-year-old boy in to custody that same day.

The boy’s mother had reportedly turned him.

The unidentified teen told investigators that Grace had followed him into the woods, and he lost track of her. He said a “shadowy man was controlling him” and made him strangle Grace.

The teen then said that he knew Grace was dead when he felt her soul or spirit leave her body. He fled the woods, and changed his dirty clothes at home, police say.

He’s been charged with two counts of murder and count of child molestion.
