INDIANA–A 14-year-old girl who was reported missing in April has been found safe in Florida.
Aaliyah Ramirez was last seen on the morning of April 27, 2021, leaving her home in Indiana and walking to a bus stop, Syracuse police say.
Police issued a Silver alert three days later and the search for Aaliyah continued until it was cancelled on Friday after she was found.
Aaliyah’s mother, Ashli Aspy, took to Facebook to release details that police weren’t, surrounding the missing teen. She said two of her family members, Liz Sands and Allissa Sands, were arrested after being accused of allegedly keeping the missing teen in a hotel room for four months.
Jail records shows that Allissa Sands, 25, and Elizabeth Sands, 47, were being held in jail on out-of-state fugitive charges.
(The suspects have identified as the girl’s grandmother and aunt)
