NYC- The body of a missing woman was found in a plastic storage bin left out on a sidewalk, police say.
Police were called Friday to University Ave in The Bronx, after a passerby made the gruesome discovery.
The body was identified as Nisaa Walcott, 35. She was pronounced at the scene. She was reported missing the day before by her brothers.
Walcott’s cousin, Khalid Barrow, 21, was charged on Saturday with murder and concealing a human corpse, according to the NYPD.
Barrow was arrested after police obtained surveillance video of Walcott going into her apartment building with Barrow on Friday. Barrow is then seen leaving alone afterwards.
The video also showed Barrow removing a plastic container from Barrow’s building that same day, according to reports.
Police believe that Barrow pretended to be Walcott by texting her family and saying that she had to skip town for a business trip and asked if they could care for her son. Her family reported missing after noticing the messages weren’t from Walcott.
Walcott leaves behind a 14-year-old son.
There is cause of death or motive.
