DETROIT- A missing toddler has been found dead days after her mother was killed.
Police say Wynter Cole Smith, 2, was tragically found dead in a Detroit alley three days after her mother was allegedly stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend 26-year-old Rashad Price.
Price allegedly stole his ex’s car, kidnapped her daughter, and sped off on Sunday night to another town after the deadly attack. He was seen the following morning and was chased by police until he crashed 90 miles away, according to the FBI.
Police believe Price sexually assaulted Smith’s mother before he kidnapped her.
For three days, authorities used divers, helicopters, dogs, and drones.
Price was arraigned Wednesday on eight felonies, including two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and assault with an attempted murder charge.
He’s being held without bail.
