Ill- A reward for information leading to an arrest in the murder of a missing woman has now doubled.
Vanessa Ceja-Ramirez’s body was found Wednesday at a forest preserve.
Ramirez was last seen on Monday afternoon. She was with her mother at the forest preserve, and decided that she would go her own way, to meet up with her mother later on at the car but she never showed up.
Her cell phone’s last ping led police to an apartment complex 2 miles away from the forest, but she wasn’t in that area.
The 22-year-old body appears to have been dumped, after police searched that same wooded area on Monday.
Autopsy reports state that Ramirez died of asphyxiation due to a ligature strangulation. Her death was ruled a homicide.
There is a $4,000 reward.
