Mississippi man faces felony charge for throwing dog off overpass

MISSISSIPPI- A man has been charged, after police say that he threw his dog off an overpass and onto a busy road.

According to WREG, multiple witnesses reported seeing 20-year-old Merterrious Johnson, holding the dog, before throwing it on an interstate.

The dog luckily survived, and was taken to a shelter.

Johnson has been charged with one count of animal cruelty, which is a felony charge. He’s being held on $1,000 bail.
