QUEENS- A man has been indicted for murder in the death of his pregnant girlfriend.
30-year-old Goey Charles was arraigned on Tuesday in an indictment charging him with second-degree murder.
According to authorities, the body of Vanessa Pierre was found on Oct. 23 face-down on the side of the Horace Harding Expressway.
Authorities say video surveillance showed Charles pulling over around 2:50 a.m., exiting a white Dodge Challenger and getting in the back of the vehicle where Pierre was seated.
Pierre was seen motionless and laid out in the back of the car, after Charles closed the car door.
Two hours later, Charles was also seen exiting the vehicle, dragging Pierre’s body out of the car, and leaving her lifeless body on the sidewalk before driving away.
Pierre’s body was discovered by a passerby around 6 a.m. and she was pronounced dead on the scene.
According to the District attorney, a pair of sweatpants were found around Pierre’s neck.
Charles faces 25 to life in prison if convicted.
