UTAH- A mother is accused of fatally shooting her 2-year-old son and then attempting to kill herself.
40-year-old Valerie Peck was charged on Friday for allegedly killing her son on Monday, as he sat in his car seat in a camping area, according to an arrest records obtained by the Deseret News.
Police say that Peck shot herself twice, in an attempt to kill herself, but she survived. Afterwards, she then drove to Fantasy Canyon to freeze herself to death.
Police found Peck, along with her her 2-year-old son’s dead body at the canyon, inside of her car.
Peck has been charged with aggravated murder and child abuse, and was taken to a Hospital for treatment.
