PENNSYLVANIA- A mother accused of allegedly hiding her dead baby inside the wall of her bedroom has been charged, police say.
Police arrived at the residence of Kylie Wilt, 25, and Alan Hollis, 27, on Thursday to assist Child Youth Services, who were searching for the child, reports KDKA.
Once inside of the home, police discovered the baby’s remains in a wall.
“We found the child was placed in a wall, inside a wall and was drywalled over from statements made by the mom”, Washington County District Attorney Jason Walsh said, according to the news outlet.
Wilt told police that the baby died from sudden infant syndrome in Feb. and she couldn’t afford a funeral for him. The baby, believed to be around 6 months old, had been kept in a crate in a bedroom wall.
Wilt was charged with concealing the death of a child and the abuse of a corpse as well as other charges, KDKA reported.
The baby’s father, Hollis, is facing charges of obstructing the administration of law or other governmental functions.
