Mother, boyfriend sentenced in death of 2-year-old tossed in lake after brutal beating

TEXAS- A mother has been charged, and her boyfriend in the death of her 2-year-old daughter.

Police say that Tiaundra Christon, reported her daughter missing in Oct, telling them that she had lost her daughter at a park, reported click2houston.

Things took a strange turn in the search for Hazana Anderson, when police discovered a life-size doll in a dumpster, with the same clothes that she told police the missing toddler was wearing.

Christon was seen on surveillance footage, pushing a stroller with what appeared to be her daughter, but it was a doll.

Christon, her boyfriend and Hazana were staying at a hotel, when according to a probable cause affidavit, Hewett left with Hazana to get food and returned a half hour later with the toddler crying, reported KHOU.

Hewett became upset that Hazana was crying, and began to beat her with a belt. He then told Christon to do the same, but when he felt as if she wasn’t hitting Hazana hard enough, he began to beat her again.

Christon witnessed her daughter going in and out of conscious, before her and Hewett placed Hazana in a bathtub to revive her.

Christon told police that after she took her daughter out of the bath, she noticed that she had been sexually abused.

Hewett and Christon placed the little girls body inside of a bag in the backseat of Christons car, leaving Hazana there for 3 days. Christon drove around for 3 days with Hazana’a body before she and Hewett dumped the little girl’s body in a lake.

A medical examiner testified that the injuries that caused Hazana’s bruising would not have been enough to cause her death, and was unable to determine if her death was a homicide.

Hewett was sentenced to 20 years in prison, after pleading guilty to tampering with or fabricating physical evidence with intent to impair a human corpse.

Christon was found guilty of just tampering with a corpse on Friday, and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
