Jiterria Lightner will turn herself in this week to police, so she could face charges in connection to the death of her 3-year-old son according to WCNC.
Lightner was with her son Jaiden Cowart, and three other children at the Charlotte-Douglas International Airport when the boy fell from the top of a escalator.
He was taken to a Hospital, where he died three days later from the blunt force injuries he sustained from his fall.
Police said they investigated the case as if it was an accident, but their homicide unit is looking into it.
Lightner will be charged with child neglect and child abuse.
She faces 150 days in jail.
