CALIFORNIA- A mother and daughter accused of killing a woman in an illegal buttocks procedure pleaded not guilty to murder on Tuesday.
Libby Adame, 52, and her daughter, Alicia Galaz, 24, were charged with murder after Karissa Rajpaul, 26, died during an illegal, plastic surgical procedure, according to The Post.
The pair was also charged with three counts of practicing medicine without certification.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office ruled Rajpaul’s death a homicide. She died from acute cardiopulmonary dysfunction and intramuscular silicone injections.
Galez and Adame were arrested in 2019.
When complications occurred during the procedure, Adame and Galez called 911 and left Rajpaul at the scene.
Rajpaul was taken to a hospital, where she died that same day.
They reportedly advertised their illegal operation on social media.
