NORTH CAROLINA- A mother who allegedly killed her youngest daughter, forced her 13-year-old daughter to bury her body, police say.
Malikah Bennett, 31, has been charged with first-degree murder, felony child abuse and felony concealing a death and inflicting physical injury in the death of her 4-year-old daughter, Miegellic “Jelli” Young, who died last year.
Bennett forced Young to stand for 3 days straight in a laundry room, without breaks, as punishment for soling herself until she collapsed and died.
Her body was found in her family’s backyard last month. She had black eyes, bruises all over her body and other signs of abuse.
According to The Charlotte Observer, the cover up of Young’s death involved several family members.
Bennett forced her 13-year-old daughter to place her sister’s body in a hole and throw dirt on her, arrest docs state.
Police also arrested Bennett’s mother, Tammy Taylor Moffett, 53, and charged her with accessory to murder after the fact and concealing a death.
