Mother shot and killed by 5-year-old son; police

ARIZONA- A mother is dead after her 5-year-old son accidentally shot her, police say.

Michele Cox, 38, was shot in the family’s home on Friday.

Cox was airlifted to a Hospital after suffering a single gunshot wound to her chest and was later pronounced dead.

Cox’s 4 other children and her boyfriend were all home at the time of the shooting.

Investigators believe the shooting was accidental and there was a handgun that was found at the scene.

There is an ongoing investigation.
