Mother, uncle arrested after boy falls out of moving car

FLORIDA- Two people have been arrested after a 4-year-old boy fell from a moving car.

Police say an uncle continued to drive his car on Wednesday, after his nephew fell out of the car, while the mother was taking a nap, police say.

A witness called 911 to report a child falling from the rear door of a moving vehicle that was heading down a road, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

She told them that the man driving the car kept going on without the child.

Police say the boy’s mother was napping in the passengers seat, as her other three kids were in the back of the car with no seatbelts on. She found out her son had fallen out of the window after she woke up. The car then went back for the boy.

The boy luckily survived.

Police found marijuana and Xanax bars in the vehicle. They charged the uncle, identified as Jacobs Santos, with child neglect, driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana under 20 grams.

The mother, 26-year-old Desiree Rodriguez, was charged with child neglect and possession of a controlled substance.

All four children were taken and placed in Child Protective Services.
