D.C- A suspect has been charged with murder in the death of a mother who vanished in 2010 from her home.
Police have charged Isaac Moye, 43, with second-degree murder while armed in the death of Unique Harris, 24, reported The Washington Post.
Harris had disappeared from her home on Oct. 9, 2010, hours after she watched a movie with her children.
Authorities searched for Harris, but after 8 years, they declared her dead in 2018. In 2017, investigators linked DNA found on Harris’ couch cushion to Moye.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by the Post, an informant, who spent time with Moye in jail said that he had told him about a “missing girl” and remembered Moye saying he would never be caught because “he did it the right way”.
Authorities also say that Moye’s GPS monitor showed that he was at Harris’ apartment complex.
Moye has pleaded not guilty.
Harris’ body has never been recovered.
