Police have arrested a suspect in connection to the disappearance of a pregnant mother who vanished in 2017, police said.
Baltimore police arrested and charged Michael Robertson on Tuesday, reports the Baltimore Sun.
Robertson is facing two counts of first-degree murder for the death Akia Eggleston and her unborn boy, who he fathered.
Eggleston was eight months pregnant when she disappeared.
Eggleston’s body has never been found in the four years that she has been missing. She stopped all contact with her daughter, family and friends.
The mother was last seen alive on May 3, 2017. Activity on her phone and social media had stopped.
Police say Robertson had a motive. He was expecting a baby with Eggleston, but he was in a relationship with another woman, whom he shares two kids with.
His cellphone also showed him in the same area as Eggleston when she vanished, after telling police that he wasn’t near her.
That woman broke up with him after seeing photos of Eggleston’s sonogram pictures on social media.
