BRONX, N.Y.- A teen has died, after being stabbed and set on fire by his ex’s brother.
Winston Ortiz, 18, was supposed to visit a friend in an apartment building on Wednesday, but was ambushed by his ex’s brother, who stabbed him once in the chest and three times in his back and then set him on fire while he was still alive.
Neighbors rushed to the victim’s help, after hearing his screams, pouring buckets of water on him.
Ortiz was rushed to a near-by Hospital, where he died from his injuries. He suffered burns over 90% of his body.
Police say that the suspect, Adones Betances, 22, waited about 10 minutes for Ortiz inside of the building, before killing him because he was upset that Ortiz had recently broke up with his sister.
Betances has been charged with murder, manslaughter and he’s currently being held without bond.
