Netflix documentary about rapper Nipsey Hussle to be directed by Ava DuVernay

According to a statement released by the late Nipsey Hussle’s company Marathon films, a documentary is in the works.

Despite the statement reading that “no final deal has been inked”, they did state that they are in talks with Netflix and director Ava DuVernay for the new project.

The feature documentary will be executive produced by Nipsey’s two children, Emani and Kross Asghedom, and Ava DuVernay’s company ARRAY will co-produce the film.

The news has been basically confirmed by Ava who tweeted a marathon flag on Monday. The flag is a symbol known to represent Nipsey Hussle’s album.
