The NFL has just approved a new policy that will fine players for not standing up during the national anthem. A move that was started when Colin Kaepernick began to kneel to bring awareness to the unarmed Black men who were being slaughtered by the police. Other players joined in by kneeling, holding hands and even cheerleaders participated. This of course caused massive controversy to the point where Kaepernick, who is biracial was left without a job, with many people saying team owners didn’t want him because of the controversy that followed his kneeling. 32 NFL team owners voted unanimously with Jeff York from the San Francisco 49er’s abstaining. Players will have the choice of staying inside the locker room if they refuse to participate. Photo Cred: Thearon W. Henderson/Getty
