Nick Cannon’s 5-Month-Old Son Dies From Brain Cancer

Nick Cannon’s 5-month-old son Zen has died after a battle with brain cancer.

Cannon and Alyssa Scott welcomed Zen back in June, making him Cannon’s 7th child.

Zen was reportedly battling Hydrocephalus, a form of brain cancer.

Nick Cannon tearfully shared his son’s battle with his show:

“I always noticed he had a cough and so I wanted to check it out,” he said. “He had this interesting breathing and by the time he was two months I noticed he had this nice sized head too, a Cannon head. We didn’t think anything of it. But I wanted to take him to the doctor for his sinus and breathing. We thought it would be routine.”

When Zen was taken for a check-up, doctors found he had fluid building in his head and had a malignant tumor. He had surgery and a shunt was put to drain the fluid.

Cannon then said things took a turn for the worst.

“This weekend I made an effort to spend the most quality time with Zen. We woke up on Sunday and went to the ocean with him and Alyssa and then I had to fly back to New York for the show,” he said, breaking down in tears. “I got a call on my way to the airport to head back to Zen.”

Cannon shared how he held Zen for the time, telling the audience, “You can’t heal until you feel”. He added that he returned to work so quickly because is all he knows and called his episode a “celebration of life” for his son Zen.
